CRITERION III IN GUIDING – KAYAKING GUIDE – 2018 INTAKE

Industrylink’s 2018 intake of students for our Criterion III in Guiding – Kayaking Guide, will experience a comprehensive blended-learning course that is the most engaging delivery of experiential learning in Australia today!

Our online learning platform will enable students to work through the theoretical elements of the qualification at a pace that suits their particular life circumstances, while the face-to-face components are delivered by respected industry leaders, in the most desirable locations in Tasmania.

Participants will acquire the knowledge, and hone the Kayaking skills needed for this qualification, by completing an intense ten-day training program. This will include kayaking along parts of Tasmania’s spectacular South-east coastline, under the watchful eyes of their trainers. Participants will then fly down to the remote South-west of Tasmania, to Port Davey, at the very bottom of Australia. In this extraordinary location small groups will spend the next three days exploring what is renowned as one of the top ten kayaking adventures in the world. Participants will take turns at leading the group and planning the day, as part of their course.

Prior to the experiential components of the course, students will also complete their First Aid Certificate, as well as a Remote First Aid qualification and a CPR Certificate.

Participants will also be educated in the principles of food hygiene, transport and storage, as well as be trained over three intensive days to cook fantastic and nutritious meals by Tasmania’s most respected teaching chefs!

Combined with the knowledge on the fauna, flora, landscapes and indigenous culture that participants will acquire from the rich resources we provide, their educational journey will be the experience of their lifetime!
