CRITERION III IN GUIDING – WALKING GUIDE – 2018 INTAKE

Industrylink’s 2018 intake of students for our Criterion III in Guiding – Walking Guide, will experience a comprehensive blended-learning course that is the most engaging delivery of experiential learning in Australia today!

Our online learning platform will enable students to work through the theoretical elements of the qualification at a pace that suits their particular life circumstances, while the face-to-face components are delivered by respected industry leaders, in the most desirable locations in Tasmania.

Participants will acquire the knowledge, and hone the skills needed for this qualification, in exactly the environment that draws individuals into our industry in the first place! As part of the program, each group of students will complete the spectacular Three Capes Walk. This is four days on the fabled Tasman Peninsula, trekking from historic Port Arthur and around the highest sea-cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere. This will be a small group of students, led by their Trainers, who will alternate as leaders of the group as part of the course.

Participants will also complete a separate four day odyssey that combines the famous east coastline of Tasmania, and the pristine forests of the North-east.

Prior to the experiential components of the course, students will also complete their First Aid Certificate, as well as a Remote First Aid qualification and a CPR Certificate.

Participants will also be educated in the principles of food hygiene, transport and storage, as well as be trained over three intensive days to cook fantastic and nutritious meals by Tasmania’s most respected teaching chefs!

Combined with the knowledge on the fauna, flora, landscapes and indigenous culture that participants will acquire from the rich resources we provide, their educational journey will be the experience of their lifetime!
